About the property...
The spacious accommodation at Chalet Goville is set over three floors. The main entrance on the ground floor opens on to a hall with a cloakroom and then to the vast open-plan living area. The large kitchen is planned around a wonderful original chimney, which rises up through the chalet to the roof. There's plenty of room to cook on the big Lacanche range oven, and there's a central island, with plenty of space for several people to share the work!
There's room for everyone to sit down at the dining table, which was custom-made using wood from the old chalet, and after your meal, you can gather around the fire in the cosy seating area to catch up on your day or perhaps to enjoy a film. The dining area and living area both have access to separate balconies and the flat garden, where you can get together for a nice dinner or just soak up the sun.
There are two double en suite bedrooms on this floor - one with a shower room and one with a bathroom - as well as a separate toilet.
A lot of imagination has been used to make the most of this stunning farmhouse - glass floor panels above the kitchen make the most of borrowed light and allow everyone to see what is happening below! A large floating staircase takes you via the glass-floored landing to the first floor, where there are five more large en suite bedrooms, all of which have access to terraces. Three of the bedrooms also have useful dressing areas. Four of the bedrooms have large double beds, which can be arranged as twin beds if you prefer, while the fifth bedroom has a double bed which can be separated into twin beds and two bunk beds, perfect for a family. It also has a shower room and a mezzanine chill-out area with bean bags. The owners have used glass panels on balconies so that nothing interrupts the breathtaking views. There's also a useful laundry on this floor.
The lower ground floor is dedicated to sport and relaxation - there's a large ski and bike room with a boot warmer, a ski technical room and a wonderful wellness area, with an exercise bike, workout mats and table football. There's a large sauna and shower room, but the focal point of this area has to be the sunken hot tub, surrounded by floor to ceiling windows with views over the ski lift and the mountains. It's the most incredible place to wind down at the end of an active day. There's also a wine cellar on this floor.
About the area...
Just 450m from the chairlifts and 3km from the busy village of La Giettaz, Chalet Goville is in a great location for skiers, walkers and mountain bikers.
The link from Le Plan to the ski areas of Combloux and Megève means skiers have lots of choice - more than 100km of pistes in the Portes du Mont Blanc area, and still more in the larger Evasion Mont Blanc area, which covers Megève, St-Gervais, Saint-Nicolas de Veroce and Les Contamines. If you're still looking for more, you're just a short drive from the La Clusaz ski area, which has more than 200km of pistes.
There's just as much to do in the summer - choose from walking, climbing, mountain-biking, summer luge, picnics, or just enjoy the 360-degree views from the top of some of the ski lifts. The Col des Aravis, a familiar scene in the Tour de France, is also nearby. The owner, a keen cyclist, is happy to take guests on road bike tours in the summer, when the ski room becomes a useful space to store and maintain your bikes.
The medieval town of Annecy is just 45km away - close enough for a day trip. Explore the narrow streets and canal side restaurants or enjoy a day on one of the lakeside beaches. Or head to "Le Palais" sports centre in Megève, via Flumet, it's only half an hour away.
If you're looking for a base for a mountain holiday with a large group of friends or family, we think Chalet Goville will be hard to beat. Check our availability calendar to see when it's available - we can hold two weeks for you for 24 hours so that you can check with the rest of your party. But don't leave it any longer - with so much going for it, we are expecting this chalet to be very popular with guests of OVO Network.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Goville is a seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom renovated farmhouse for 15. There's plenty of room for everyone, with 450m2 of space arranged over three floors.
The chalet is a 3km drive from the busy village of La Giettaz, but there are some shops, bars and restaurants around the lift area, which is just a 450m walk away.
This stunning chalet has been imaginatively renovated by the owners, who have combined contemporary touches, such as the large floating staircase and glass floors and panels with original architecture such as the huge chimney in the kitchen, to create a really unique home.
Whether you are visiting with friends or family, there is plenty of room for everyone and with seven bathrooms, your privacy is guaranteed. But when you want to get together, there's plenty of choice - watch a film in the cosy living room, cook together in the spacious kitchen, enjoy the views from the terrace or relax in the spa area - there's a sauna and stunning sunken hot tub with wonderful views over the mountains.
If you'd rather enjoy your own company, most of the bedrooms have their own balcony where you can soak up the sun or the crisp mountain air.
We think Chalet Goville is the perfect solution for a large family group, or a group of friends looking for a unique experience in the French Alps - there's plenty going on, whenever you visit. The La Giettaz area offers great skiing and snowboarding, especially on fresh powder days, with links to the Megève and Combloux area, and still more to discover a drive away in La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand.
In the summer, there's plenty of choice for walkers and bikers, and the great facilities back at Chalet Goville mean you'll look forward to relaxing there at the end of the day.

From the owner
"Chalet Goville was built as a family farm in the 1800s, and also served as the village canteen.
After buying the farm from my aunts, I started renovating it, with the help of my father and local craftsmen. The work took four years, and transformed the 450m2 of space into a chalet where we have taken great care to make sure you will have a wonderful holiday.
The chalet overlooks the pistes of the Portes du Mont Blanc ski area, is at the start of many marked walking trails and close to the magical Col des Alpes."

“We had the perfect stay!”
A wonderful chalet, in an ideal location to enjoy hikes during this time of year, and skiing in winter (and La Clusaz is a short drive away if there isn't enough snow in La Giettaz). Thank you for everything, I'm sure we'll be back!
There is everything you need in this chalet to spend an excellent week. The bedrooms and living room are very comfortable, not to mention the jacuzzi. Great chalet.
